Ah, Spring in West-central
Gulf-Coast Florida.
They call us The Nature Coast.
The Emerald coast lies just North,
while for reasons as yet unclear to me,
the section of coastline lying just to the south
is called “Cultural”!
What do they have that we don’t?
Buncha snobs in Tampa, if you ask me.
And who came up with Nature Coast?
Don’t they realize we’re mostly just
The Haven’t
Seen the Hill in Years Gang?
Let’s be honest! We all know
the sight of several thousand of us
Pep-steppin Lawrence Welkies
running around the trails and beaches
au natural (surely the reason for the nom de plume)
would make pawn star electroplate cultural gold
peel in sheets from Tourists, Townies, Turtles, and
Tampoons
as we out here in nature like to think of our
cute little culturally infused neighbors.
Nature Coast, indeed!
